Jenna Bush Hager’s Read with Jenna Book Club Expanded to Production Company

Jenna Bush Hager’s Read with Jenna Book Club is expanding to a production company in partnership with Universal Studio Group. The production company will develop and produce book adaptations for multiple platforms. “As an author and avid bibliophile, Jenna is uniquely tapped into the stories that resonate most with people and influence our culture,” says Pearlene Igbokwe, chairman of Universal Studio Group, in a statement provided via text. “Her literary passion is infectious, and we are excited to begin this new partnership.” The Read with Jenna Book Club champions many debut authors from diverse backgrounds. The book club’s most recent pick is Black Cake by Charmaine Wilkerson.

Mad Men Stars Reunite for New Fletch Movie

Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm and John Slattery are reuniting in the upcoming mystery-comedy film Confess, Fletch. The movie is based on the 1976 novel of the same name by Gregory Mcdonald. Irwin ‘Fletch’ Fletcher (Hamm) is an intelligent but obnoxious investigative reporter who discovers a dead body in his apartment and is now tasked with proving his innocence. Miramax has released two stills from the film, which will also star Roy Wood Jr, Ayden Mayeri, Lorenza Izzo, Annie Mumolo, Marcia Gay Harden, and Kyle MacLachlan.

Speaking of former Mad Men stars, Apple TV+ has released its first trailer for Shining Girls, starring Elisabeth Moss. The upcoming series is based on the 2013 sci-fi thriller The Shining Girls by Lauren Beukes. The story is about a serial killer who time travels to kill significant women throughout history. Elisabeth Moss is starring in and executive producing the project, with Wagner Moura cast to lead opposite Moss. Shining Girls is scheduled to premiere on April 29th.
