HEARTSTOPPER Has Been Renewed for Two More Seasons: Today in Books

Amy Adams and Marielle Heller Team Up for Adaptation of Rachel Yoder’s Nightbitch

Six-time Academy Award nominee Amy Adams will star in Annapurna’s dark comedy adaptation of Nightbitch by Rachel Yoder. Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) will direct the film, with a script written by Yoder herself. Heller said in a statement, “Rachel’s darkly hilarious tale of motherhood and rage made me feel seen. And adapting it with Amy Adams in mind has been the thing that has kept me going through the pandemic.”

Heartstopper Has Been Renewed for Two More Seasons

Netflix’s Heartstopper has been renewed for not one, but two more seasons! The show creator and writer Alice Oseman said in a special announcement, “We were overjoyed with the global reaction to Heartstopper and can’t wait to continue the story with two more seasons.” Check out the official announcement here.

Katsumoto Saotome, Who Preserved Stories of Tokyo Firebombing, Dies at 90

Novelist Katsumoto Saotome died on Tuesday in Saitama, Japan, a suburb of Tokyo. He was 90. Saotome was 12 years old during the American firebombing of Tokyo during World War II. He spent much of his adult life working to preserve the memories of survivors through published accounts and a museum he founded. The author’s daughter Ai Saotome confirmed her father’s death. She said he was hospitalized with pneumonia last fall.
