From the beloved World Fantasy Award-winning author of Witchmark comes The Midnight Bargain, a sweeping, romantic new fantasy set in a world reminiscent of Regency England, where women’s magic is taken from them when they marry. Beatrice Clayborn wants to practice magic and become her world’s first great sorceress. However, she must save her family from severe debt through an advantageous marriage. What’s Beatrice to do caught between the man of her dreams and her magic? Find out in the book Kat Howard (An Unkindness of Magicians) called, “the perfect blend of fantasy and romance.”
Welcome to Check Your Shelf. My Monday shift at the library was quite an adventure! A massive storm rolled through, and as the designated Person-in-Charge, I had to coordinate emergency procedures, usher everyone to the shelter location in the basement, and then made the call to close the library early when the power went out. Fun!
