Good Day, YA Readers!
Lots of exciting and fun YA news to share this week, along with a stellar lineup of new YA books. Grab your TBR because it’s going to grow.
YA Book News
- February 12 is when we’ll see the final adaptation of the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before trilogy on Netflix. Here’s the trailer!
- And here’s what’s on the soundtrack to the film.
- This is publishing news, but for readers who loved MTV Books back in the day, it’s coming back! Fun fact: chances are you’ve read one of the MTV Books and you may not have known it. Read Perks of Being a Wallflower? Welcome to the fold!
- Reese Witherspoon picked her next YA book. Am I reading right that this monthly book club looks like it might be going seasonal/quarterly now?
- The Girl at Midnight has been snapped up for adaptation.
- More casting news for the adaptation of The Sky Is Everywhere.
- I kind of knew DC was bringing a Poison Ivy novel to the YA world, but I didn’t realize this was the angle (and Kody Keplinger as writer is awesome!).
- Netflix is adapting three of Ibram X. Kendi’s anti-racism books, including his YA release with superstar Jason Reynolds.
- The Young Adult Library Services Association released their 2021 best fiction for young adults, their quick picks for reluctant readers, their best audiobooks for young adults, and their great graphic novels for teens lists. I miss when there was ceremony around these lists, since it’s a monumental task for the librarians on the committees — it’s just not the same showing up on a blog, but alas. Great picks here!
